Notes on Summer Art Program -- Modern Masters

Each summer for the past few years, I have taught art at a SAM (Science, Art and Math) Camp here in Florida. The camp is located on a college campus in the same building as a local museum which always has wonderful modern art displayed in it. Because of that, I like to do something about modern art with the children. I give them some background on modern art relevant to the artists whose work we study and off we go on our projects.

This year, I think I'll start with Paul Klee. I found a few good videos that I might use.

I think there's an exhibit of George Inness' paintings, so perhaps a pastel landscape in that style would be appropriate. Here are a few that emphasize mostly color and shape.
